KEEN AWARDS MAX'S SERVICE WITH ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP AWARD

This past week, a number of our Keen team made the very short trip to Max's Service for a special occasion. Keen Technical Solutions is proud to present Max's with our 2017 Environmental Stewardship Award.

Owner Jeff Owens and his team are a landmark in our community. Dating back to the 1940's, the business operated in a variety of fields, but every single one included a dedicated element of expertise and service, and that's something that continues to today. In a world of disposable, throw-away products and automated customer service, Max's personal, lifelong relationships and impeccable services make buying appliances enjoyable. Max's maxim remains "It's the service that counts", and it's an attitude we've admired and adopted here at Keen. 

Max's contribution to the community extends to support of many local events and organizations, including Norte Youth Cycling, Traverse City's effort to support and educate kids to bike as a way of life. It's a cause that's near and dear to Jeff's heart in particular; the father of a brood of active, healthy kids himself, cycling is a daily pleasure for the Owens clan. The life of the outdoors has even turned Jeff's son, Cam, into one of the up and coming skiers in the United States, earning him a place among the next wave of downhill skiers in Colorado, where he now attends school. 

Of course, Max's commitment to environmentally-friendly business practice is an exciting thing to see. Their recent remodel offered a unique opportunity to update their showroom's lighting system. Mike Powers and the team put together a set of lights that improved lighting efficiency, greatly reduce operating costs, and even offer better color rendering. If you've ever tried to discern if 'cream' is the same as 'eggshell' in a poorly lit room, you know how important it is to have good lighting! For customers, it means a better buying experience, and for Max's, a chance to reduce costs and be even more competitive in the appliance and service industry.
