We are already excited about another great event for a great cause. You may remember our efforts last summer to help the LessCancer.org team complete their ride to Traverse City. Well, we’re in for it again for 2018!

A number of KEEN employees, friends, and members of the cycling community are already confirmed for a two-day, 238-mile adventure to help raise money and awareness for the good people at LessCancer.org. Each year, they ride money to raise money for important cancer research efforts that might someday end the disease. That’s their mission, and our mission is to organize the strong, healthy and active community in Northern Michigan to help them bring that day a little closer.

We have 20 spots left for what will be a fun, challenging, and ultimately charitable ride scheduled for Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24. We’ve organized rooms for 30 people to leave by bus to join the ride at Michigan State University Flint Campus early Saturday morning. We’ll ride north 118 miles on Saturday at a smooth and steady 18-20 miles per hour. The ride has full SAG support, food stops every 20-30 miles, and strong riders ready to spend time in the wind to make sure we all make it to the campground Saturday night. The first day will end at Merril Lake Park in Barryton, Michigan. There is plenty of incentive to make it, with our own paella expert Aaron making a huge dish for everyone to enjoy, plus live banjo music, too!

Join us in the campground for a night of good food and camaraderie, or reserve your room at the local hotel, where there are already rooms blocked off. We'll even have paella and live banjo music to keep you fed and your feet tapping! On Sunday morning, we finish the ride to Traverse City with another 100-mile day, finishing at the Cancer Center for the annual cookout. The Cowell Family Cancer Center has hosted an annual picnic for years, spending the afternoon honoring those who have led the way in the fight against cancer and advocating for cancer prevention.

The fun doesn’t stop there, either. We’ll have The Steel Wheels playing live at The Workshop. There’s no cover, just a donation at the door, with 100% of those funds going straight to support the Less Cancer mission.

Of course, you can join for one day, both, or make a donation to Less Cancer at any time. This ride is open to anyone who wishes to see the end of this terrible disease, whether you’re affected by the illness in a family or friend, personally, or if you’re a survivor. Let’s come together and ride cancer off the face of the world.

Contact us to reserve your spot in the TC van, or check out LessCancer’s flyer for more information about their work to advocate for cancer prevention awareness.

We will provide products and services that are easy to operate and understand, resulting in guaranteed energy savings, lower life cycle costs, and reduced demand on our nation’s energy resources.
