Next to the complex and technologically advanced work Defense Components does every day, it as really an honor to think that we could contribute to their success. From defense and aerospace experts, the company creates incredibly precise instruments and components, it's a rather simple thing to walk in and toss in a few lightbulbs.

Of course, our project with Defense Components was a bit more complex than that. Working with their team, we helped devise a comprehensive plan to update, upgrade, and replace certain parts of their lighting system. Our goal was two-fold; first, we wanted to implement pieces that would reduce operational costs that will help make the company more competitive for years to come. Second, we wanted to use both exterior and interior lights to create a safer, more productive work environment. The right lighting can have a big impact on productivity, as well as playing a big part in the workings of what the company creates.

We completed both goals, and the numbers are exciting to see. As a result of our work, Defense Components can expect to save $20,859 per year in energy expenses. That's 105,568 kWh, or the equivalent of 8,715 gallons of gas or a whopping 207 barrels of oil! With energy expenses expected to rise in 2018, that number could get bigger in the new year.

Investing now means being more competitive, sooner, and for longer. Investing in your business's infrastructure is the best way to prepare for the future; future technologies, future opportunities, future savings.

" It isn't often when a company can enhance the workplace environment for its employees, improve its workers productivity, contribute significant cost savings to make it more competitive and reduce its environmental footprint at the same time. "
