We’d like to invite you to see some exciting changes to Oryana Natural Foods Market on April 29!

You’ve probably seen the Keen team hard at work over the past few months. Our friends at Oryana have been growing and progressing for over three decades, and we’re proud to be a part of their continued success. This 2017 expansion is another step in a journey that started in 1973 and has seen the store grow not only in square footage, but in importance to their community. The changes reflect an ability to adapt and react to a competitive market, but also a strong commitment to the values that bring so many of its co-op members together.

The 2017 expansion sees an additional 700 square feet of floor space available, most of it dedicated to offering a more cozy, lounge-like atmosphere to the famous Lake Street Cafe. You’ll be able to enjoy a warm and inviting place to eat, sip, and talk. Oryana sees the space as a way for the community to gather and connect. We’ve worked hard at making sure it’ll feel like home!

The move also promises a revamped and restructured coffee bar, but also an important migration for another Oryana landmark. The world-famous hot bar gets shifted to its own spot on the north wall, which will open up more floor space for shelving, groceries and other delicious treats.

Oryana and Keen were dedicated to using the most efficient and environmentally-responsible materials throughout the process, and we’re proud to say the effort has paid off. Actual energy savings were 17% better than anticipated COMCheck estimates, which is a software that lets contractors now if a building project meets federal and state codes.

That’s an improvement that has a lot of value. Keen expects that energy efficiency and sustainable building methods aren’t just the responsible things to do, their vital in being competitive in any market. We envision that expansion projects like the one at Oryana will become more and more common, with energy savings becoming an important element to success.

What does that mean for you? It means a party! Keen, Oryana and the whole community are gathering to celebrate the expansion with a cook-out on April 29. Come see the new space, the new colors, and enjoy the coming of spring with friends.

We will provide products and services that are easy to operate and understand, resulting in guaranteed energy savings, lower life cycle costs, and reduced demand on our nation’s energy resources.

" We increased our lighting on the interior & exterior areas and decreased our lighting cost! A big improvement in the quantity and quality of light... handling of our rebate and tax incentives was an added bonus. "
